![]() We've just started work on adding a third story to a residential care home in Taunton. The job involved some major scaffolding work to being with. Having removed the roof we're continuing to move the joists in preparation for extending the interior and exterior walls. Once complete, we'll be re-using the joists and roof tiles to finish the job.
![]() We're cracking on with the blockwork, insulation and external brickwork now. Progress is good with things proceeding on schedule with no difficulties encountered on what is a fairly large but straighforward job. ![]() The new floor is now in place, along with more exterior brickwork, windows and roof timbers. Work is on schedule and the lack of disruption to the main building and residents is proving to be very welcome. ![]() Interior walls are now going up, using a metal joist system to cut down on noice transmission. The excellent weather has really allowed us to crack on with the roof too. ![]() We've now finished the job, on time and on budget. The images below show how well the upwards extension blends in with the existing building. |
