Judge's Report:

"The original club was built five years ago on a raised but covered in elevation because of flooding concerns. This project filled in the ground floor area and provided a suite of conference facilities. Considerable areas required 100mm excavation to provide adequate head room for conference facility sound projection.

The building quality is to a very high standard throughout, as required for commercial use. As the bottom storey had been bricked in, a small opening was cut and later restored to provide access for men, materials and machines. The health and safety aspects were particularly testing as the club remained is use for conferencing throughout and for play. The club has a thriving junior section, which created extra risks as far as unguarded building works were concerned. There were no accidents. A new plant room was built with heavy duty showers and a function kitchen. The area is very wet and prone to flooding, so the tanking and DPC details were very carefully designed and built.

The client, who was used to handling builders, stated that Adsborough co-ordinated all their logistics and sub contractors planning well ahead, around club events. The client was always properly informed and the whole contract was conducted superbly."
